I purchased these 5 years ago and they still work just as good as the day I got them. I did a lot of research because I wanted to protect my ears and money was no object because your hearing doesn't get better with age. I am very happy with the way these perform whether you are outside at the range or indoor. The best part about them is that you can hear your instructor or those you are shooting with them on. Both sides have a volume knob so you can balance each side or turn them up to hear your instructor better. These are very comfortable and I bought them so I could wear them with a wide brim hat. All day outside at the range can really sunburn your face, ears, and neck....these fit around your neck great! Buy them, you'll like em.I am a very educated shopper, specially when concerning my health. In this case my hearing. I shopped around looking for the best hearing protection in the form of behind the neck electronic ear muffs. I decided to go with Pro Ears due to the brand recognition in the firearms industry. What a total disappointment! The unit FELL APART ON THE VERY FIRST USE! I was in the middle of an advanced pistol class and I have trouble having the unit in place. I constantly was moving and trying to get the unit in place to get a good seal on my ears. the unit was very uncomfortable and moving out of place leaving my ears partially exposed. I don't know how much hearing damage I received due to this unit failing to stay in place. finally I discover that one of the metal pieces holding the ear muffs in place was loose and out of the ear muff. This ear protection is garbage, hot garbage. I normally don't leave this kind of reviews, but my experience with these electronic hearing protection was horrible. I strongly recommend other shooters to avoid this particular model and go somewhere else. A total piece of junk!Good sound deadening muffs. Tight and stays on my head.Don't waste your money on these. These things are junk. The wire that holds the earpieces together popped off on the first use and won't stay on. The pieces themselves are flimsy.I found volume could not be increased enough. Also found these behind the ear Pro Ears don't fit as tight as I would like even though my head size is 7 3/8.
